Do Hindus have moral codes and commandments?
As previously explained, the definition of the word “Dharma” itself includes moral obligations and righteous behaviour. The basic virtues the Hindus are prescribed to cultivate and practice are: Patience, Forgivenes, Self-Control, Cleanliness, Control of the Senses, Wisdom, Knowledge, truthfulness, Non-violence, Charity, Honesty and Love. Without these qualities, humans are like beasts.
This Q/A was taken from the book Hinduism: Myth and Reality written by Ajit Adhopia and published by Inderlekh Publication.
